"I would like to than you so much for your efforts and support through the process. I would not have been able to do it without you while continuing to deliver in my job. It was an absolute pleasure to work with you. - Connie
"I cannot express enough how invaluable these sessions with Louise are! Initially thinking I was perhaps rather unqualified and under skilled to utilise career counselling, I was proven wrong very quickly. Louise provides the necessary skills and knowledge for any student or professional at any stage of their career. I had just quit my job and effectively the same role for the last 7 years to break into the ‘green’ sector. Having already applied for a considerable amount of jobs in the sector and getting nowhere I was very hopeful for my time with Louise. Within only a few weeks of having commenced working with Louise I was able to gain entry into the sector through not one, but two roles! Louise provided me with the skills to completely reshape my resume, invaluable insight into the recruitment process and highlighted so many other potential opportunities and how to access them that I was simply not aware of. Not only did I receive three in person sessions, but was also emailed personalised information on current employment opportunities out there and tips/knowledge and articles relevant to my individual situation. I will carry the skills learnt from Louise through the entirety of my career and recommend her to anyone who wants to design and work the career they dream of." - Tara
"I chose the Eco Program that Louise offers. It was an insightful and helpful exercise for me. I want to change my career and I can say the program has helped me to clarify things that I didn't know and discover others. Firstly it gave me awareness of an area of interest where I now know to be an unrealistic path to pursue. Although a bit disappointing for me, this at least helped me to move on and discard that option. On the other hand, during the discovery process Louise showed me other paths that I can realistically pursue and which are also very interesting to me. Now, with the couple of options we narrowed down I have a plan to get immersed and explore more to finally take the plunge to study another career that will help the environment. I liked that Louise is patient, a good listener, and very knowledgeable about the work she does. She also offered me good tools and sources of information." - Carlos
Hi Louise, just to let you know I got two job offers. One offer was through a job ad, and one through my network, and I ended up taking the job I got through my network. So your advice was spot on – keep focussing on the network side of things for those opportunities. And was it the job I was after? Yes! A project manager delivering energy efficient and resource management projects for commercial and industrial clients, based in Melbourne. Your specific advice that proved of most value:
"Louise was instrumental in my career change success. She helped me transform a bland CV into something that effectively communicated my career goals and highlighted my skill set. She also assisted with translating my experiences into what I call "HR-speak", so that recruiters could smoothly connect the dots of my career to date into an overall vision of my capacity. I would recommend Louise's services to anyone attempting a career change." - Monique
"You may be a professional in your field, however when it comes to your career plan you shouldn't think twice about taking some professional guidance yourself.
Louise Millar-Hoffman offered me an extensive and personalised career plan after an in depth assessment and thoughtful inquiry.
The investment can't be under-estimated when you find yourself three months down the track in a role you hadn't considered before, but one that ticks all the boxes you couldn't put your finger on when you could only communicate how dissatisfied you were with your last position.
I highly recommend Louise and her approach and will have her to thank for guiding me to the tools required to plan the next however many phases of my future work/life career." - Sylvie
"It was a pleasure to work with Louise Millar-Hoffmann in Melbourne who is a highly professional, passionate and approachable person. As conference convenor of the 2009 Career Development Association of Australia Annual Conference, Louise had the vision and organisational skills to manage an innovative conference that pushed the boundaries in many different ways. She also dealt with a variety of set-backs and alterations to the program with aplomb, indeed when faced with a significant late withdrawal from the program, she turned adversity into triumph by securing the services of an Australian icon as a replacement who proved to be one of the biggest hits of the conference. As an experienced Career Development professional I can recommend Louise as someone who delivers consistently at a high level, and can work exceptionally well under pressure." - Prof. Jim Bright ACU/Bright and Associates
